Our client, an international legal services firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development (“BDM”) Manager to join their Marketing and Business Development team. This position reports directly to the Director of Business Development, but works closely with the CMBDO, Director of Marketing as well as the entire Marketing & Business Development Team.

BD Managers collaborate closely and often with practice group leaders, lawyers at all levels and across administrative departments to support a variety of business development initiatives, including pitches and proposals, practice planning, competitive intelligence, among others.  Successful candidates will have 5+ years of experience in business development for professional services firms (e.g. law, accounting, IT, management consulting, marketing agencies, etc.), be quick learners, team players with excellent communication and organizational skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, PPT and Word, and exceptional aptitude working with CRM, experience management and new technologies.

Candidate must be based and willing to work in the downtown area - New Orleans, LA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Serve as “BD Lead” for two of the firm’s six practice areas

·      Serve as “BD Lead” for select “working groups” of lawyers that focus on trending new areas of law

·      Serve as project manager for major proposals and pitches for existing and prospective clients

·      Build, evaluate, research and maintain prospect lists for working and practice groups

·      Research companies, executives, industries and markets

·      Track experience and deals in firm systems

·      Travel – Up to 20% depending on location.

Education and Experience Required:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Analytics or related field required

·      5+ years of full-time experience in business development for professional services firms

·      MBA, J.D., or relevant Masters degree desired

Qualifications and Skills Required:

·      Ability to work remotely with team members.

·      Superior project management skills. Self-directed and able to manage multiple projects at one time.

·      Strong writing, communication and collaboration skills.
