Senior Boiler Technician (San Diego Metro)
Snapshot / Role Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Boiler Technician in San Diego Metro to keep high-pressure steam boiler systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Impact

Keep operations safe by following strict safety protocols.

Ensure uninterrupted steam supply for critical building systems.

Boost plant performance by fine-tuning combustion and controls.

Meet environmental and safety standards to avoid downtime or violations.
Responsibilities
-
Operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary systems.
-
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on burners, pumps, and controls.
-
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
-
Tune combustion systems for efficiency and code compliance.
-
Record maintenance activities and system performance logs.
-
Maintain boiler water chemistry and manage blowdown cycles.
-
Follow all LOTO and OSHA safety requirements.
-
Support inspections, certifications, and third-party service coordination.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
-
5+ years working with high-pressure boilers (e.g., Cleaver-Brooks, Miura, Raypak, Babcock & Wilcox).
-
Strong knowledge of boiler controls, combustion, and ASME codes.
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Valid driver’s license.
-
Proven troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
-
EPA 608 Universal Certification.
-
OSHA 30-hour safety training.
-
HVAC or mechanical systems training or certification.
-
Experience with BMS or advanced boiler control systems.
Compensation & Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and more. This full-time role is based in the San Diego Metro area and may involve limited regional travel.
