Our client is a distinguished non-profit organization that operates across five locations in the Saratoga Springs, NY area, offering senior citizens a spectrum of living options including Senior Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services.
 
We're currently seeking Registered Nurse (RN) candidates for a Nursing Director in Saratoga Springs, NY to play a pivotal role in their continued success.
 

Job Summary:

As a Nursing Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential services to residents in accordance with New York State Regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the efforts of the Personal Care Staff to ensure the efficient functioning of medication systems, direct care services, and case management processes. Reporting directly to the Administrator, you will be integral in maintaining the well-being and independence of residents while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.

Location: Saratoga Springs, NYHours: Monday-Friday approx. 8a-5p + Availability after hours to answer phone calls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track and schedule annual physicals for residents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Arrange routine doctor appointments and coordinate care between various healthcare providers.
  • Communicate medication changes and residents' doctor visits to the Personal Care Supervisor through comprehensive case management notes.
  • Complete annual and 30-day case management assessments in a timely manner.
  • Provide personalized case management services to residents, supporting their independent functioning and personal choices, while conducting ongoing audits and supervision of case management processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and different departments within the organization.
  • Make recommendations for additional services based on social, physical, and mental evaluations of residents.
  • Maintain accurate and current resident information, including diet orders, resident rosters, etc.
  • Perform various office duties as needed, including weekly and monthly audits of Medication Administration Records (MARs) and Physician Orders.
  • Track visits and paperwork for the podiatrist, ensuring residents' podiatric needs are met.
  • Manage resident charts, including organizing current medication orders, diet orders, telephone orders, and the Hospital Emergency Book.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents as required.
  • Conduct care plan meetings regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Notify physicians of resident illnesses, obtain medication orders, and follow up with pharmacies and physicians regarding telephone orders on a daily basis.
  • Monitor residents closely to identify any abrupt or progressive changes in behavior or appearance that may necessitate medical attention or additional services.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Previous supervisory or management (i.e. Charge Nurse) experience. This is a Department Head position.
  • Knowledge of New York State Regulations pertaining to case management and healthcare services.
  • Availability after hours to answer phone calls.
  • Clean driver's license. Travel between locations may be required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities
