Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $70-85K
Job Summary of the Design Engineer: The Design Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the future of product lines by creating innovative designs. The Design Engineer will lead technology development and design ownership of all product lines, as well as R&D of product lines. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to communicate product specifications, standard requirements, design, and design changes for engineering and manufacturing.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
· Lead technology development and design ownership of custom-made product lines and R&D on additional product lines.
· Collaborate with a cross-functional team to communicate product specifications, standard requirements, design, and design changes for engineering and manufacturing to assure realization of customer requests.
· Implement engineering best practices, review new standards, and identify gaps.
· Develop concepts for new products, matching market requirements, and establish a competitive edge.
· Reviews complete technical documentation package to validate product performance against customer requirements and suggests modifications or develops new design where required.
· Selects components and assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications.
· Develop a comprehensive proposal for the custom design of products to meet or exceed customer requirements.
· Ensure customer satisfaction, accuracy, and timeliness of customer documentation.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Design Engineer:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline is required.
· 1-5 years of demonstrated success in design engineering or new product development experience is required.
· Innovation and R&D experience.
· Electrical/electronics engineering experience is preferred.
