\n\nAn established and respected electrical contractor is seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead all aspects of preconstruction strategy and execution. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for guiding estimating operations, client engagement, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management to ensure projects are set up for success from concept through handoff.
\nThe Director of Preconstruction serves as a trusted advisor to clients, architects, and engineers—delivering accurate, innovative, and cost-effective solutions while mentoring a high-performing team.
\n\nProvide strategic leadership and oversight for all preconstruction activities across multiple projects.
\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators to ensure precision, consistency, and efficiency in deliverables.
\nPrepare, review, and manage project budgets, estimates, proposals, schedules, and value engineering initiatives.
\nPartner with business development and operations teams to support client acquisition and retention efforts.
\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase, fostering trust and long-term relationships.
\nIdentify and mitigate potential project risks; review contracts, insurance, and bonding requirements to ensure compliance.
\nLead proposal development, client presentations, and bid strategy sessions to position the organization for success.
\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (equivalent experience will be considered).
\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in electrical estimating, preconstruction, or project management for commercial or industrial projects.
\nDemonstrated leadership experience managing preconstruction teams and complex, large-scale projects.
\nProficiency with Accubid or similar estimating software, along with a strong understanding of current industry tools and technologies.
\nIn-depth knowledge of electrical systems, construction codes, safety standards, and best practices.
\nExcellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
\nProfessional certifications such as CPE, PMP, or LEED AP are highly desirable.
