Job Description
- Form and maintain nonprofit corporate entities and prepare formation documents
- Draft and file state and federal reports to maintain good standing
- Submit filings to the FEC, IRS, and other regulatory bodies
- Maintain organized client corporate records and track filings
- Conduct campaign finance research and vet donors for compliance
- Support attorneys with post-election recounts and related legal matters
- Assist with creating presentations, legal memos, and client briefings
- Collaborate with paralegals and attorneys to divide tasks and ensure continuity
- Respond to audit requests and regulatory inquiries on behalf of clients
- Perform legal research on corporate compliance matters
- Participate in time-sensitive election-related projects requiring flexibility and overtime
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a corporate paralegal in a law firm or business setting
- Experience forming and managing nonprofit entities highly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with legal tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis preferred
- Interest in political or nonprofit legal work is a strong plus
- Ability to work overtime during election cycles and filing deadlines
