We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Surgical and Cardiovascular Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for our surgical and cardiovascular departments. This is a crucial full-time, days position that reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The ideal candidate will be a seasoned healthcare leader with a strong clinical background and a proven track record of managing complex hospital units. You will be responsible for the 24/7 operations of these critical service lines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. This role is essential for driving departmental growth, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management: Provide strong, visible leadership to all staff within the surgical and cardiovascular services. This includes day-to-day management, staff scheduling, performance reviews, and mentorship. You will be a key role model, advocating for the professional discipline of nursing and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
Strategic Planning and Operations: Work in close partnership with the COO to assess current operations, plan for future needs, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency. This involves everything from budget management to technology adoption and process improvement.
Clinical Excellence and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all nursing practices and patient care functions meet or exceed established standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for monitoring clinical outcomes, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with all hospital policies, state regulations, and accrediting bodies.
Staff Development and Competency: Take ownership of staff competency by identifying educational needs, developing training programs, and supporting professional growth. You will be instrumental in fostering a skilled and motivated team that is equipped to provide the best possible care.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with other hospital departments, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions and a cohesive operational environment.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: An Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing program combined with a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Preferred: A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Master's Degree in a related healthcare field (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Business Administration).
Experience:
Required: A minimum of two (2) years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
Required: Direct experience in a hospital Operating Room (OR) environment is essential, with at least two years of hands-on experience.
Required: Experience in a Cath Lab/Cardiovascular setting is mandatory.
Licenses & Certifications:
Required: Must hold a current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice/residence.
Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Skills:
Proven leadership ability with a track record of inspiring and managing diverse teams.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
A deep understanding of hospital operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 per year.
Sign-On Bonus: This position offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus

Relocation: Relocation assistance is available and will be considered for the ideal candidate.
Interview Travel: All reasonable travel expenses incurred for the interview process will be reimbursed.
