Electrical Controls Engineer / Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer

My client, a trusted leader in engineered-to-order material handling equipment, is looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for complex capital equipment and automation projects.

This is a full-time role with on-site presence and a flexible arrangement which is ideal for an engineer who enjoys cross-disciplinary collaboration and tackling real-world control system challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design electrical controls, wiring diagrams, and schematics using AutoCAD
  • Develop control panel layouts, PLC logic, and system documentation
  • Select components including motors, drives, relays, HMIs, and sensors
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and customers
  • Support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment on-site
  • Maintain alignment with industry codes (UL, NEC, NFPA79, etc.)

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Experience designing and programming industrial control systems
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical and PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Comfortable working with high voltage equipment and motor controls
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support shop floor and field teams
