We are recruiting on Purpose a full-time Project Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role plays a critical part in supporting the financial success of our projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable, with a strong background in project accounting—ideally within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Project Managers to manage all financial aspects of active projects, including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.

  • Assist with project setup and ensure accuracy of financial data and configurations in Acumatica.

  • Maintain and update detailed project records, contracts, and budgets.

  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, and provide timely reporting and updates.

  • Allocate time and resources accurately across multiple projects.

  • Perform financial analysis to support pricing decisions and proposal development.

  • Manage project cleanup and closeout, including reviewing unbilled items, revenue budgets, balances, and resolving discrepancies.

  • Coordinate with Project Coordinators to ensure seamless financial operations across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the AEC industry.

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.); advanced Excel skills preferred.

  • Experience with Acumatica is a strong plus; experience with tools such as Oracle, Deltek, or Textura is beneficial.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.

  • Experience managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, evolving business environment.

  • Flexible and eager to adapt to new technologies and regulatory changes.
