Estate Planning Associate (HNW)

Location: Exton or Blue Bell, PA

Schedule: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite), Full-time; no specific billable hour disclosure, but standard associate metrics likely apply

The Client:

Is a nationally recognized law firm with over 25 offices across the United States and 1,000 attorneys.  They have a very strong reputation NATIONALLY and do not operate outside of the United States.  They are known for impeccable client service, ranking within the top 10% in the country for their client service and legal acumen by an independent and reputable study that is NOT Martin-Hubbendale. 

Description:

The associate will join a well-established and collaborative team of attorney proficient in tax law, financial services and wealth planning who dedicate their weeks to supporting high-net worth clients with a range of estates, trusts, wills and guardianship planning needs. The work is largely transactional in nature, entailing the drafting and creation of ultra-specific and sophisticated estate plans tailored to unique client needs such as special needs children, guardianship rules, and tax deferrence advice for clients with large estates in need of fully comprehensive trusts and wills that turn over every stone and consider any possibility.  Along with preparing estates, associate will file gift and estate tax returns. This role offers a clear path towards growing into a highly proficient wealth planning attorney or estates planning expert, with eventual hand-off of legacy accounts amongst a supportive and collegiate leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school with good grades
  • Active member of the Pennsyvlania State Bar in good standing.
  • LLM is highly preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a practicting attorney, with at least 2 years in tax and private finance law supporting estate planning and administration.
  • Ability to file gift tax returns; transfer tax issues and federal tax returns.
  • Proficiency in preparing estate planning documents, trusts and wills.
  • Knowledge of planning for family-owned businesses and corporate trusts, insurance plans and succession planning.
