Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a skilled Litigation Counsel Attorney to join its dynamic Insurance Coverage Practice Group. This team represents domestic and international insurers in high-exposure, multi-jurisdictional matters involving pollution, toxic tort, asbestos, construction defect, products liability, errors and omissions, excess liability, and other complex coverage disputes. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable leading major components of litigation, and is seeking an opportunity for meaningful responsibility and professional growth.
Candidate Profile

JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record

Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing, with the ability to practice in all NY courts

New Jersey bar admission (in ADDITION to NY) is preferred

7–12 years of substantive experience with insurance coverage litigation
- Experience handling product liability-related coverage matters strongly preferred
- Extensive deposition experience and familiarity with examinations of key witnesses
- Demonstrated ability to manage matters in both state and federal courts
- Proven history of drafting detailed coverage analyses and providing strategic recommendations to insurer clients

Leadership capability to supervise associates and paralegals effectively
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain discretion
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple fast-moving matters simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to identify, anticipate, and resolve issues efficiently
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute litigation strategies for complex insurance coverage disputes and class actions

Conduct sophisticated legal research and draft detailed legal memoranda

Analyze insurance policies and claims, and prepare comprehensive coverage evaluations and recommendations

Take and defend depositions

Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, interrogatories, and other litigation documents

Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences

Draft litigation correspondence and manage communication with opposing counsel, clients, and courts

Supervise associates, paralegals, and litigation support teams
- Manage multiple matters with substantial independence and strategic judgment

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: Expected annual base salary range of $210,000–$240,000, as determined by experience and market factors
