 Our client is a mid-sized, publicly-traded technology provider of system IT for accelerations of system-on-chip (SoC) development across high technology systems.

Duties: 

Communication Protocol Expertise:

  • Evaluate and improve industry-standard communication protocols.
  • Develop and maintain proprietary communication architectures for highly configurable SoC designs.
  • Analyze customer requirements for coherent communication systems, including chiplet integration using advanced interconnect standards.
  • Set performance and efficiency targets for configurable communication IP.

  • NoC Integration and Optimization:

·         Collaborate with design teams to seamlessly integrate communication functionalities into the overall SoC architecture.

·         Optimize communication architecture within the SoC to minimize latency and maximize bandwidth.

Performance and Power Efficiency:

·         Analyze performance bottlenecks and power consumption in communication systems.

·         Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance overall system efficiency.

·         Collaborate with internal teams to verify and optimize communication mechanisms.

Verification and Validation:

·         Support teams in developing strategies to ensure the correctness and robustness of communication protocols and their implementation within the SoC.

·         Assist with testing and debugging to validate communication behaviors under various scenarios for functionality and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

·         Interface with marketing and sales to gather customer input and understand market demands.

·         Collaborate with various internal teams (hardware, software, system architecture) to address their needs and challenges.

·         Provide technical expertise and support to customer-facing teams for successful product integration.

Innovation and Knowledge Sharing:

·         Stay current on advancements and research in communication technologies.

·         Evaluate emerging methodologies and industry trends, proposing their integration to enhance SoC communication solutions.

Technical Communication:

·         Prepare detailed technical documentation such as architecture specifications and design guidelines.

·         Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Education:

·         Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant technical field.

 

Experience:

·         Proven experience in designing and architecting high-performance communication protocols for integrated circuits (ICs).

·         In-depth knowledge of chip (SoC) and on-chip network (NoC) architectures, communication protocols, and memory organization.

·         Strong understanding of how data caching strategies interact with communication channels within an IC.

·         Experience in verifying and validating the correctness of communication protocols within ICs.

 

Skills:

·         Proficiency in hardware design languages (HDLs) and related design tools.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic approach.

·         Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.

 

The Ideal Candidate will have:

·         Experience with specific hardware design languages (HDLs) and tools commonly used in communication protocol design for ICs is a plus.

·         Prior experience in designing communication protocols that ensure data consistency across multiple processing units is highly advantageous.
