Estimator

PurposeReview blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for projects while ensuring cost efficiency and supporting successful bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project documents to prepare detailed cost, material, and labor estimates

  • Track actual costs vs. bids; recommend adjustments and cost-saving measures

  • Collaborate with engineers, owners, contractors, and vendors to resolve estimate issues

  • Prepare itemized lists, bids, and proposals for management and client use

  • Conduct site visits before bids and during construction

  • Support long-term planning and business development efforts

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred

  • 5+ years of estimating or related experience

  • Strong math, blueprint reading, and construction knowledge

  • Skilled in proposal development, cost analysis, and vendor selection

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Proficient with construction methodologies, equipment, and government requirements

  • Valid driver’s license; for company vehicle
