REGIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

 

REGIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER SUMMARY:

The Executive Director of Quality is responsible for operations quality performance of the business across multiple manufacturing sites. Additionally, they will have full leadership responsibilities of the Advanced Quality and Supplier Quality groups for the organization.

 

REGIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mitigate the risk of any missed deliverables with the execution of appropriate corrective action plans.
  • Review and monthly performance for the business in NA with Regional reporting leadership.
  • Support and direct team on quality related issues specific to the needs of the business.
  • Encourage usages of best practices among division sites to promote systemic improvements.
  • Leads, implementation, and verification of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes including leading Plant APQP activity and Customer and Supplier PPAP.
  • Monitors and/or may lead the auditing of internal Quality Systems and industry quality system requirements (i.e. TS16949, VDA, ISO 9001, etc).
  • Communicate Customer issues, company‘s performance in the eyes of the Customer, and unique Customer quality systems / procedures to the appropriate individuals within company, and assure that appropriate actions are taken.
  • Ensure that successfully implementation of Quality Systems, and are certified to / compliant with ISO/TS16949, including customer specific requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Customer specific Warranty and performance data. Ensure that the appropriate issues are identified, root cause determined and corrective actions implemented.
  • Develop and execute Annual Development Plans, Performance Reviews, and succession plans for each QE and QM that is in the Business Unit.
  • Participate in the quoting process to ensure that the appropriate quality resources and objectives are considered prior to receiving the business award.
  • Ensure that all Quality deliverables are completed on time and that any critical issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with set policies and procedures to ensure preservation of the Company Quality Policy.
  • Support the comprehensive continuous improvement philosophy for all company disciplines.

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area is required.
  • Leadership experience in automotive supplier setting required.
  • Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including (minimum) ISO/TS 16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
  • People development and leadership experience is required.
  • Advanced Quality Planning including familiarity with the Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA’s, PPAPs, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design, and Performance/Material testing.
  • Advanced statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodology.
  • Professional Certification in Quality Engineering/Quality Management is preferred.
