Radiation Therapist

Overview:Our client, the leading cancer treatment facility in the Rockies, is home to a nationally-renowned, highly-skilled, and innovative team of providers. Their center offers advanced technologies and personalized cancer treatment options, including tumor-genetic profiling and over 120 therapeutic agents. They strive to provide treatment plans as unique as each patient.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direction of a radiation oncologist.
  • Monitor patient responses and report any adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about procedures and care.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and radiation safety standards.

Equipment & Techniques:

  • Varian True Beam linear accelerator.
  • Elekta Flexitron HDR afterloader.
  • Superficial x-ray unit.
  • Departmental CT simulation with 4D capabilities.
  • Techniques include: VMAT, SRS, SBRT, DIBH, HDR brachytherapy, LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

General Objectives:As a member of the radiation oncology team, you will administer ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases. This role requires a strong understanding of:

  • Anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Medical terminology and oncology.
  • Radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation oncology techniques.
  • Radiation safety and the psychosocial aspects of cancer care.

Education:

  • Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program.
  • R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.

Experience:

  • Experience in Radiation Oncology is preferred but not required.
  • All levels of experience are being considered for this position.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of radiation safety and current regulations related to radiation therapy.
  • Ability to interpret and deliver treatments according to plans and protocols.
  • Experience with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems, and electronic medical records.
  • Required Techniques: Breath Hold, SRS, SBRT, Superficial, and HDR.
  • Highly Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of Mosaiq.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
