Shift: Swing shift- alternates one week, 7am-3pm and the next week 3pm-11pm

We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician/Electro Mechanic to join our team in Chatham, NY. Reporting to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician/Electro Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of products. Your responsibilities will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing various equipment types, collaborating across departments for effective solutions, and upholding safety and quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production.
  • Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
  • Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds.
  • Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolution.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Managing small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
  • Performing all duties in support of the organization’s quality and safety policies.

Qualifications:

You'll be an ideal fit for this role if you meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in an industrial environment or military, with a background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial, and motor controls is preferred.
  • Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, and twisting, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to rotating shifts and overtime, including weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

Your role will encompass various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety policies and procedures, setting an example for others.
  • Identifying and mitigating safety risks in behavior, equipment, and processes.
  • Developing and performing effective preventive/predictive maintenance tasks and procedures to prevent equipment breakdown failures.
  • Rapidly and safely diagnosing equipment issues and implementing optimal corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with operations personnel to address abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that could affect safety, quality, or productivity.
  • Participating in proactive maintenance activities such as FMEA’s, RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action), Analytical Troubleshooting (ATS).
  • Documenting work in detail to build valuable historical data for future analysis.
  • Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards in personal work areas.
  • Selecting and using appropriate tools for each task and avoiding damaged tools.
  • Executing precision welding as required.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in shop tools such as lathes, drills, milling machines, etc.
  • Understanding and interpreting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
  • Expertly maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving reliability of various equipment types, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, electrical, and robotic systems.
  • Precisely installing equipment according to OEM specifications.
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancing equipment inspection, lubrication, and accessibility for both new and existing equipment.
  • Applying comprehensive knowledge of equipment operation/function to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and reliability efforts.
  • Developing, modifying, reading, troubleshooting, and installing PLC programs.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing AC and DC drives/motors.
  • Fabricating and installing electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
