Our client, a leader in the industry with numerous accolades, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Laboratory Manager in the Microbiology department.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree: Completed Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or an applied science such as Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry.

  2. Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

  3. Microbiology Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a Microbiology Lab.

Desired Certifications:

  • Preferred: Certification by an accredited agency as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technician, or specialty certification.

Job Description:

Our esteemed client, known for its commitment to exceptional care and innovation, invites qualified candidates to lead the Microbiology Lab. In collaboration with key stakeholders, you will champion quality, compliance, and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:

    • Oversee and lead the Microbiology Lab section, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
    • Assume full responsibility for the laboratory staff in the Microbiology section, fostering a culture of quality and compliance.
  2. Financial Oversight:

    • Manage fiscal aspects, including budget preparation, staffing expenses, and capital budget.
    • Contribute to cost-effectiveness, resource optimization, and revenue enhancement goals.
  3. Quality, Compliance, and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies' requirements, including CAP and The Joint Commission.
    • Collect, analyze, and disseminate quality and compliance data.
    • Participate in the hospital-wide Quality Assurance Program and follow up on safety reports.
  4. Technical Expertise:

    • Provide guidance on technical issues and evaluate new methodologies and technology.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.
  5. Human Resources:

    • Oversee the interview process and staff selection, recommend salary rates, and ensure staff proficiency.
    • Support employee engagement, continuing education, and cross-training initiatives.
  6. Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with staff, participate in regular meetings, and collaborate with other departments.
    • Implement a customer service program, valuing and responding to customer feedback.
  7. Other Responsibilities:

    • Perform additional duties as required, adhering to our client's behavioral standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or applied science.
  • Certifications: Preferred certification by an accredited agency.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Microbiology Lab, with 3 years of leadership experience.
