A leading Am Law 50 firm is seeking a Cloud Governance Manager to shape and oversee its data governance and information security initiatives. This is a critical role ensuring that data across the firm’s enterprise cloud platforms is managed securely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and business standards.
\nYou will lead the development of governance frameworks, policies, and standards, while working closely with attorneys, IT, and business teams to enable secure data usage and sharing across the firm.
\nData Governance Framework: Build and maintain firmwide data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the data lifecycle using tools such as Microsoft Purview, iManage Threat Manager, and Varonis.
\nData Retention & Classification: Implement and enforce technical controls for data retention and classification aligned with business and regulatory needs.
\nSecurity & Privacy Controls: Assess and strengthen security and privacy measures to protect sensitive firm data.
\nTraining & Enablement: Deliver training and guidance to staff on governance practices and responsibilities.
\nStakeholder Collaboration: Partner with attorneys, business teams, and IT to design secure, compliant data access and sharing solutions.
\nGovernance Integration: Align with Information Governance, Office of General Counsel, Security Architecture, and GRC teams to track risks and support compliance.
\nCloud Platform Leadership: Drive governance initiatives across Microsoft Office 365 and other enterprise platforms.
\nRequired:
\nBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
\n7+ years combined experience in IT, information security, and risk management.
\nStrong project management skills with the ability to manage risks in technology solutions.
\nHigh-level technical understanding of security applications, cloud platforms, and governance architectures.
\nKnowledge of information security standards and frameworks (CSF, NIST, ISO).
\nProficiency in GRC (governance, risk, compliance) practices.
\nStrong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
\nPreferred:
\nCertifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, GSEC, or CRISC.
\nAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Purview and related governance tools.
\nFamiliarity with law firm operations and risk management frameworks.

Location: Hybrid/Remote – Must be local to one of the firm’s U.S. offices (Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Diego, San Francisco, or Washington DC). Strong preference for highlighted markets.
Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000 base salary + bonus eligibility
