Our client is seeking an experienced Tooling Supervisor. This position will oversee the processing of mold repair and manage the activities to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

They provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

 Essential Functions:

·         Direct plant tool repair activity to meet plant efficiency and utilization targets.

·         Maintain an effective preventative and predictive tooling maintenance program.

·         Controlling outside tool repair costs as much as feasible.

·         Interact with plant staff on cost/price and process improvement activities.

·         Interface with Plant and Corporate engineering on all tool related issues.

·         Maintain performance to Tool Room budget.

·         Review new tools during build/design process and tryouts or activities as deemed by the project engineer.

·         Ensure staffing levels are appropriate.

·         Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

·         Directly supervise Tool Room employees. 

·         Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s plans, policies, and applicable laws.

 Qualifications:

·         Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing molds, providing guidance to the Tool Room employees.

·         5 + years tooling experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably auto or plastics)

·         Experience with directly supervising employees in a Tooling Department.

·         Must possess good oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
