Trusts and Estates Attorney | Top National Law Firm – Midwest Offices

A highly respected national law firm with a strong Midwest presence is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney with 1–4 years of relevant experience to join its growing Estate Planning Practice Group in Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago. The firm’s estate planning team provides comprehensive counsel in sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management for individuals, families, businesses, and charitable organizations.

Qualified candidates should have experience in estate plan drafting, estate and trust administration, estate and gift tax planning, and business succession planning. Ideal candidates will have a background in:

  • Drafting complex estate plans and business succession documents for high-net-worth individuals

  • Preparing charitable giving documents and advising on tax-efficient strategies

  • Counseling clients on income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax planning

  • Assisting with probate proceedings for taxable and non-taxable estates

  • Preparing Federal gift and estate tax returns

  • Advising on tax-exempt organization planning

The ideal attorney will demonstrate strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. The firm values professionals with top academic credentials, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and a positive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the Bar in the jurisdiction of practice

  • Timely admission to the Bar corresponding with the office of hire is required

  • 1–4 years of experience in estate planning or related practice areas

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $225,000 to $315,000, based on experience and qualifications.
