Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our production facility.  This position is responsible for ensuring efficient production workflows, maintaining quality standards, promoting a safe work environment, and leading a team of skilled fabricators and machine operators.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of meeting production targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily shop floor operations to ensure production schedules are met efficiently and safely.
  • Coordinate activities of the production team, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training.
  • Communicate consistently with Project Management to ensure customer priorities and schedules are in alignment with production schedules and goals.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met or exceeded through inspection and collaboration with the quality and engineering teams.
  • Optimize workflow and resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, enforcing company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Resolve production issues, equipment failures, or personnel conflicts promptly and effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices and 5S implementation.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates and address concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial technology or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, technical drawings, and shop specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Core hours are Monday - Friday; 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.  Hours may vary to ensure effective hand-offs between 1st and 2nd shift and to participate in other meetings. 
  • Regular use of PPE includes safety glass, hearing protection and safety shoes/boots
