Job Title: Division Manager - Indoor Landscape Specialists

With roots dating back 50 years as an indoor live plant company, our customer has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise, specializing not only in live plants but also in replica greenery and commercial acoustics. Our diverse clientele includes companies such as Rainforest Cafe, Twitter, Disney, Universal Studios, Lifetime Fitness, and more. While we have expanded our offerings, the live plant division maintains a robust presence in the Minnesota region.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Manager to lead their Live Plant Division into the next era of growth and success. Currently serving over 300 accounts in the Twin Cities Area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, their business unit provides rental, purchasing, and servicing of live plants indoors. The team includes an account manager, supervisor, installer, and a dedicated group of several horticultural plant technicians. This role will be supported by motivated leaders in the other business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Personnel Management:

v  Lead and manage a small team, including the Account Manager, Plant Tech Supervisor, and Installer.

v  Support direct reports in resolving conflicts within their respective teams.

v  Ensure employees follow processes and guidelines.

Business Management:

v  Identify areas for improvement in company processes and implement standardized processes.

v  Oversee maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles and warehouses.

Purchasing:

v  Oversee the purchasing of live plants with suppliers, maintaining low costs and consistent fulfillment.

v  Work with the Account Manager and Plant Technician Supervisor to ensure consistent levels of service.

v  Set and update pricing to reflect cost changes.

Sales:

v  Contact customer leads and drive growth of the client base.

v  Ensure accounts are profitable and propose new ideas for sales strategies and marketing.

v  Collaborate with the design team to propose solutions for new customers.

 

 

Customer Service:

v  Keep oversight on all account relationships. Although the account manager will be their direct contact, you will be responsible for conflict management as needed.

v  Nurture existing client relationships and build new relationships through marketing, updates, and personal check-ins.

Requirements:

v  Experience running your own business or minimum 5 years of experience successfully managing a service-based business with remote technicians providing on-site services.

v  Knowledge and passion for plants; a Horticultural degree is a plus.

v  Proven track record of sales growth and exceeding sales targets.

v  Self starter with sole responsibility for the maintenance and growth of the department.

v  Excellent problem-solving and analytical/critical thinking skills.

v  Demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships.

v  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.

v  Process-driven with the ability to see implications across multiple departments.

v  Driven individual with ambition to grow a small business unit.

Benefits:

v  Competitive base salary commensurate with experience (range: $50,000 - $70,000)

v  Commission on sales.

v  Bonuses based on service revenue growth and cost management.

v  On-Target Earnings (OTE) potential of up to $100,000+ per year
