Quality Manager Job Description
PURPOSE
This job description is built with the intent of describing the core competencies and requirements of the position.
SUMMARY
This is a management position that requires a general understanding of management of people and processes. The specific skills required in this position are listed below and are only a guide to understanding the demands of the job. The right candidate will have the ability to learn and grow based on the needs of the organization, utilizing necessary skills to accomplish the function of the position. Continuous Improvement and organizational skills are the keys to success. The work is often hands-on, interacting with shop floor personnel, tool & die designers, toolmakers, Quality, Production, and Maintenance to ensure the most effective plans are created and implemented.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes related to our customers Products.
• General knowledge of the quality systems supporting the metal fabrication industry.
• Capable of driving strategies related to the Quality Management System. (QMS)
• Strong communication skills supporting QMS.
• Capable of one-on-one conversation with our customers and vendors while working
through quality concerns that may arise.
• Understanding and creation of the process flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, Control Plans as
required for PPAP documentation.
• Mentoring employees in the quality department by sharing technical expertise and
providing feedback and guidance.
• Identifies weaknesses in processes that negatively affect part quality and contributes ideas
for corrective action.
• Manages quality containment and MRB, Leads containment activity and ensures customer
relationship and cooperate image are not adversely affected by quality escapes.
• Working with production leads the corrective action process. Works cooperatively with
responsible area to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist Production in troubleshooting activities at the machine/process to solve unforeseen
manufacturing challenges.
• Working with Sales and Production to determine and create processes that achieve the
customer’s part print expectations.
• Develop and implement procedures, work instructions, supporting our ISO standards as well
as continuous improvement planning.
• Capable of leadership of all QMS/ISO audits of internal and external business functions.
• Can provide and implement safety, quality, and delivery improvements adhering to our
cooperate values.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops,
reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in
professional societies.
• And all other duties as required in this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in metal stamping, fabrication industry.
• Deep understanding of metal stamping and sheet metal fabrication technologies related to
the Quality Management System.
• Experience with quality tools of a typical inspection laboratory. Micrometer, Calipers,
Gauges, Pin Gauges, Go/No-Go Gauges, General Hand Measuring tools, and CMM’s. The
general calibration of these tools.
• Experience working with a team of Quality Technicians. Level 1 and 2.
• Experience with ISO 9001/2015 Standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
• Working knowledge of CMM programming.
• “Hands-on” approach, with passion for continues improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, maintaining effective working relationships.

problems are resolved. Developing employee growth.
