Maderra is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Specialist, Synchronous Condenser in Soldiers Pond, NL.
Located in St. John's, NL, Maderra provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors. Responsibilities:
- Technical expertise are required to assist Transmission Operations with the operation of the Synchronous Condensers at Soldiers Pond.
- Develop operating procedures and provide associated training;
- Mentor, train, assess, and support employees in operation and maintenance activities;
- Provide support as requested for technical decision making in operation and maintenance of assets;
- Provide assistance to Company operations staff with interpretation of any system alarms, as requested.
- Support equipment outage investigations, troubleshooting, and restoration activities;
- Provide support on Preventive Maintenance (PM) execution;
- Review and provide support on finalizing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals;
Requirements:
- Diploma in electrical, electronic, or mechanical technology from a recognized technical institute
- Minimum of 15 years related experience
- Extensive expertise in the areas of technical support, field operations, and maintenance of assets
- Fall Protection, Confined Space Access, Powerline Hazards and First Aid Training
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Legally qualified to work in Canada
- Fluent (spoken and written) in English
