SummaryThe Manufacturing shop floor Leader will be an integral member of a dynamic team tasked to ensure efficiency and quality in the shop floor operations of manufactured goods. This position will provide their leadership skills and knowledge to team members for activities such as planning, problemsolving, quality non-conformances, scheduling, and overall manufacturing processing. A high level of responsibility is expected because the safety and productivity of their teams reflect on their ability to lead and manage within the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Responsible for leading and driving improvement efforts on overall manufacturing activities including troubleshooting with current machine jobs, fixturing, tooling, etc. • Responsible for monitoring and scheduling labor and machine resource requirements (all shifts) to meet production goals on a weekly and monthly basis, including scheduling of overtime work, CNC programming, and all required tooling/fixturing.• Responsible for review, adjustments, and technical assistance throughout the entire production process.• Responsible for being a leader by providing technical knowledge, mentorship, and motivation to create a productive shop floor culture• Manages direct personnel included CNC Machinists, Welders, CNC Programmers, scheduler, and Preventative Maintenance staff.• Manages part movement coordination by providing daily presence and communication of the manufacturing floor• Assist the department manager with resolving scheduling and priority conflicts at machining centers and communicates all changes to supporting personnel• Supports customer RFQ’s with technical guidance, if necessary.• Coordinate with manufacturing Team to maintain the production schedule.• Communicate any machine maintenance needs to the preventative maintenance personnel.• Assist department manager to support new installation of machinery• Communicates and coordinates with internal staff for any non-conformances or lessons learned in a project to prevent future issues• Ensures the financial performance of manufacturing department is meeting the company goals for that department. • Ensures the on-time delivery of the manufacturing department is meeting the company goals for that department.HR-FM-C006-AM. Mastin xx/xx/2021• Adheres to all Company Rules/Policies.Requirements • High School Diploma required• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, Aerospace industry experience preferred• 2+ years of experience with High-level capabilities/limitations of all CNC machines and welding equipment• Must be able to read and interpret engineering blueprints and models, CAD experience is preferred• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to issues • Proven experience as a Shop Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment; Aerospace or tight tolerance machine shop is preferred.• Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to problems.• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards• Must be self-directed and able to deliver under pressure, meeting customer and management deadlines• Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable operating independently and with a team• Must demonstrate ability to act professionally• Minimum travel required• Ability to comply to physical requirements (see below)
