We’re seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Nursing Director of Inpatient Services to lead high-performing teams across Med-Surg/Telemetry, ICU, and Cardiac Specialty Unit (CSU). What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor Nurse Managers and frontline teams across multiple inpatient units
- Drive both short- and long-term strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Clinical & Operational Excellence
- Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, staffing, and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
- Champion evidence-based practice (EBP) to improve outcomes and reduce risk
Performance & Financial Management
- Manage departmental budgets and staffing productivity (HPPD)
- Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Partner with leadership to enhance patient satisfaction (HCAHPS/Press Ganey)
Team Development & Engagement
- Build and sustain high-performing teams through coaching and mentorship
- Oversee orientation, education, and ongoing professional development
- Promote a strong culture aligned with the organization’s mission and values
Collaboration & Influence
- Work closely with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Address patient and physician concerns with professionalism and urgency
What You Bring
Required
- Active Texas RN License (must be your primary state)
- BLS & ACLS (AHA) certifications
- 3+ years of acute care experience (ICU + Med-Surg/Telemetry)
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and communication skills
Preferred
- Prior leadership experience (Manager/Supervisor or above)
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (Master’s preferred)
- National certification in specialty area
- Experience with quality improvement, budgeting, and staff development
