Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

About the Role

The APRN/NP or PA will provide comprehensive primary care services within an Adult Medicine clinic setting. This role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

You will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, culturally competent care for a diverse patient population.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients
  • Conduct physical exams, obtain medical histories, and assess patient conditions
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Collaborate with physicians and refer patients to specialists as appropriate
  • Promote preventative care and health education
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough clinical documentation
  • Utilize evidence-based clinical decision-making
  • Meet departmental and organizational quality metrics
  • Effectively use electronic health records (EHR) and related systems

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active Connecticut APRN or PA license (or eligible)
  • DEA registration and Connecticut state narcotic registration (or eligible)

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2+ years of ambulatory or urgent care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of nursing or physician assistant theory and practice
  • Ability to deliver culturally competent care in a collaborative setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
