Quality Assurance Director – Metals Industry

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field is required
  • 10+ years in quality assurance/control within metals manufacturing (foundry experience preferred), including 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing compliance, auditing, and quality systems
  • Up to $140,000 base salary (depending on experience)
  • Full-time, permanent W-2 employee

This full-time Director of Quality Assurance opportunity is a pivotal leadership opportunity at a growing company, where you'll be instrumental in shaping our future. In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead all quality assurance and compliance for investment and sand casting, ensuring ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and PED adherence
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive QMS and QC processes across all foundry operations, from melting to final inspection
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC to enhance product quality and reduce defects
  • Manage customer and supplier quality concerns, acting as a primary point of contact and ensuring material/process standards
  • Lead and mentor a 5-6 person quality team, fostering excellence and proactive problem-solving

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive QA/QC experience (5+ in leadership) within a steel foundry or metals manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, PED, leading audits, certifications, and proficiency in NDT methods and failure analysis.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with a proactive, data-driven mindset and ability to foster positive team dynamics
  • Residency with 45min of Milwaukee, WI
