Our client is a leading provider of mechanical contracting services for commercial and industrial projects. They specialize in complex HVAC systems, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional results for their clients in the K-12, water treatment, heavy industrial, and government sectors.

The Opportunity:

They are seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Estimator to join their team and play a vital role in securing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for leading the estimating process for complex commercial and industrial projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids are submitted on time.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale HVAC projects, with a typical range of $3 million to $5 million (and up to $10 million+ for select projects).
• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other technical documents to determine the scope of work.
• Conduct thorough takeoffs for equipment, ductwork installation, VAV system changeouts, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and extensive underground utilities. (Note: This role focuses on commercial and industrial projects, excluding multi-family and residential work.)
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and heavy equipment rentals/operation.
• Manage all aspects of the bid process, including recaps, setups, and bid submittals.
• Partner with sales and engineering teams to ensure bids accurately reflect project requirements.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and leverage your knowledge to secure the best pricing for materials and equipment.
• Continuously monitor market trends and adjust estimating strategies accordingly.
• Analyze bid results and provide feedback to optimize future proposals.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience in HVAC estimating for commercial and industrial projects.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate and competitive bids for large-scale, complex projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods.
• Experience estimating for projects requiring extensive underground utility work with heavy equipment is a must.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience estimating plumbing systems a plus.
• Experience working as a Prime Mechanical Contractor (acting as the GC) a plus.

Base Salary Range: $100k - $130k
