The Senior Electrician performs basic and high-level electrical work on buildings, equipment, machinery, and industrial systems at all company facilities. Works independently to design, build, test, & repair VFDs, PLCs and other electrical circuits and components to improve function and efficiency. The primary responsibilities are electrical in nature but may also include instrumentation, automated process controls, mechanical repairs, and plumbing.

Responsibilities:

  • Connect power supply wiring to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machinery and equipment, following manuals, blueprints & schematic diagrams, using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using testing equipment, and replace broken or damaged cables and wiring.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly-installed equipment and machinery, such as conveyors and programmable controllers, following blueprints and electrical code.
  • Test malfunctioning equipment and discuss findings with Maintenance staff to effectively diagnose the root cause.
  • Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors, and correctly position sensing devices.
  • Diagnose and replace or repair faulty electronical components, such as PCBs.
  • Conduct tasks related to Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, and perform testing of electrical equipment & control systems.
  • Install electrical components, control circuits, breaker panels, light circuits, and motor power

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret manuals, prints, sketches, schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and schematic drawings.
  • Strong proficiency with using hand & power tools, and electronic & electrical testing equipment.
  • Computer skills, including Windows applications and experience with communications networks.
  • Self-starter, able to work well independently under minimal supervision.
  • Experience with documenting work through PMs and Work Orders.
  • Able work well under pressure, and respond to emergencies with appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Able and willing to work OT as well as weekends, holidays, and flexible hours & shifts based on company needs; standby duty may also be required.
  • Ability to visually differentiate between the colors of green and red is absolutely required!
  • Must have and maintain a valid NC driver’s license and meet insurance requirements

Required Experience & Education:

  • Journeyman Electrical License and/or Master’s Electrical License in NC preferred.
  • Prefer seven or more years of experience in Electrical Maintenance.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas, each varying in temperature, odor, and other environment-specific atmospheres.
  • Position also requires occasional work in tight spaces, heavy lifting, and frequent bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, walking, and crawling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
