They pride themselves on the strong relationships they have built with municipalities, architects, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, financial institutions, and project owners. Their company specializes in general contracting services, construction management, rough framing for wood and steel buildings, finish carpentry, and steel erection.

The ideal candidate will have prior estimating experience in the construction industry, with strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent multi-tasking abilities, keen attention to detail, and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to develop relationships with subcontractors. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operations of their Estimating Department.

Responsibilities:

The Estimator will gather bids, construction drawings, and specifications to identify labor, materials, and time requirements, then calculate the cost of each component of the project. They will view each project from a global perspective, considering every aspect that adds to the total overall cost.

• pre-bid meetings and visit sites of proposed projects to discuss work scope and overall conditions, specifications, addendums, bid documents, and on-site photos.
• interpret specifications, construction drawings, addendums, and job details to avoid uncertainties, produce takeoffs that are used to estimate projects and gather bids from subcontractors/suppliers.
• cost estimates and compute cost factors, to prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and forecasting work into our company workload.
• handle the bids and estimates along with submittals, contract documents and presentation of project costs to Management.
• write and process change orders and cost-to-complete estimates on on-going projects.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Construction Estimating experience.
• read, analyze and interpret construction drawings.
• understanding of construction practices and knowledge of codes and permitting requirements.
• attention to detail and organization skills.
