BANKRUPTCY & CREDITORS' RIGHTS LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Location: Phoenix, AZ

 

A prestigious AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a skilled and driven Associate Attorney to join its highly-regarded Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Litigation Practice Group. This opportunity is based in Phoenix and offers the chance to work on sophisticated corporate restructuring and bankruptcy litigation matters across a national platform.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar admission in Arizona, in good standing; California Bar admission is strongly preferred.

  • 3–6 years of substantive experience representing parties in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and creditors’ rights litigation.

  • Bankruptcy & Restructuring Expertise: Demonstrated experience with complex corporate restructurings, including both debtor and creditor representations in Chapter 11 and Chapter 9 municipal insolvency cases.

  • Litigation Experience: Excel in drafting, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances for bankruptcy-related disputes.

  • Additional Transactional Background: Familiarity with distressed asset acquisitions and out-of-court restructurings is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; and sound judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation matters, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 9 proceedings.

  • Provide strategic guidance to both creditors and debtors in complex insolvency cases.

  • Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts, both in and out of court.

  • Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and manage motion practice in high-stakes litigation.

  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation: Includes an annual salary range of $220,000 – $275,000, commensurate with experience and market conditions, along with a profit-sharing bonus program.
