Experience with Commercial, Health care, Medical Facilities and other structure types are (Preferred) as well as the ability to leverage those experiences to manage other types of projects.

BRING YOUR TALENT TO THE TEAM:

  • Expertise in in MEP, Low-Volt systems within a commercial project.
  • Efficiently Installing and testing structured cabling systems (SCS) for voice, data, and video applications as well as installing and testing other cabling systems for Nurse Call, Access Control, CCTV, BAS, Security, Paging, and DAS.
  • Excel in working in a fast-paced environment with talented people and also quickly and efficiently react to job demands.
  • This is a Travel/Relocation position: expenses will be reimbursed for relocating to this project.

 

THE DAILY SNAPSHOT: MEP Low-Volt Superintendent Duties

  • Testing - use tone test set, volt-ohm –meter, diagnose open, shorted, crossed, and split pairs, active circuits, UTP certification using handheld testers, optical fiber single mode/multimode using light source/power meter and OTDR.
  • Troubleshooting – Diagnose and correct copper cable problems, optical fiber problems.
  • Perform installation, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting of voice, data, and video copper and fiber optic cabling systems as well as cabling systems for other media types for other Low Voltage Systems including, but not limited to all systems otherwise mentioned in this description.
  • Build Telecommunication Closets – determine equipment layouts, mount/install backboards, mount/install cross-connects, mount/install racks/patch panels, install optical fiber panels/hardware.
  • Install Grounding and Bonding Infrastructure – know local and National Electrical Code, install grounding, bonding backbones and bus bars, perform grounding tests.
  • Install Cable Support Systems such as cable trays, ladder racks, J-hooks, bridle/D-rings.
  • Install Work Area Outlets
  • Pulling Backbone Cable (UTP/ScTP/STP-A/Fiber Optic/Coax)
  • Pulling Horizontal Cable (UTP/ScTP/STP-A/Fiber Optic/Coax)
  • Fire stopping including coring of firewall, installing sleeves and fire stopping.
  • Pre-Termination - organize, form, dress cables, determine length/slack, label cables.
  • Termination - complete IDC terminations, UTP, STP-A, cross-connect blocks, patch panels.
  • Connectors - assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors, coaxial connectors, optical fiber ST/SC/LC connectors, demonstrate connector color codes.
  • Splicing – copper cable splicing, optical fiber (mechanical, fusion).
  • Retrofits - Remove abandoned cables, identify active circuits, implement cutover.
  • Local Area Networks – Demonstrate knowledge of LAN topologies (Ethernet, token ring), LAN ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards, LAN components (servers, hubs, routers, bridges).
  • Monitor the work to ensure that workmanship is completed in accordance with BICSI, TIA/EIA standards, and Local and National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Organizing, supervise and direct the work of the assigned job crew performing the cabling installation
  • Practices/Standards/Codes - Demonstrate knowledge of BICSI methods and procedures, ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-A, 569-A, 606, 607, and the National Electrical Code.

 

COMPENSATION:

• This is a Travel/Relocation position: expenses will be reimbursed for relocating to this project.

• Salary Range (DOE) up to $140k for MEP/Low-Volt Superintendent

• End of year bonus + Additional Incentives
