POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an energetic Plant Manager in Jacksonville, NC to oversee all manufacturing ensuring safety, team member development, efficiency, quality, and plant profitability.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves, operationally minded leader who leads by being consistently present on the floor and directly engaged in day-to-day operations. They have a proven track record of leading teams, improving processes, and driving measurable outcomes. This individual will partner with the General Manager to execute strategic priorities, enhance productivity, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The facility is an indoor/outdoor environment rather than a controlled manufacturing setting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leading day-to-day operations with a strong safety focus
• Ensuring the team delivers to established productions schedule efficiently
• Developing and retaining production, quality, and maintenance team members
• Establishing plant efficiency goals and drive improvement of key performance measures
• Driving and sustaining Lean manufacturing and 5S strategies
• Ensuring product quality including elimination of internally culled structures and customer quality concerns
• Implementing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program for all company equipment and assets
• Communicating with Project Managers to ensure the plant has the necessary team and production resources to efficiently complete customer requirements
• Reviewing monthly financial statements to understand opportunities for cost and margin improvement
- Bachelor's Degree in technical or business discipline preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading production and manufacturing
- Proven experience utilizing & deploying Lean tools (Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20, etc.)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Financial and business acumen
- Experience with precast concrete or construction industry is a plus
