POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Operations will oversee plant operations, production, supply chain, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will focus on increasing operational efficiency, ensuring safety and compliance, and developing high-performing teams while supporting the company’s growth and customer satisfaction goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading all manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain functions
- Establishing a Continuous Improvement environment by utilizing key tools with an on-going pursuit of waste elimination, quality, and service level improvement, including:
- 5S+Safety, Visual Management, SMED, One Piece Flow, Daily Management, VSM, A3/problem solving, material flow/Kanban, cellular manufacturing set up, TPM, Kaizen events, and leader standard work.
- Improving throughput, production efficiency, and cost control while maintaining quality standards
- Overseeing production planning, scheduling, and capacity management to meet on-time delivery goals
- Managing KPIs and driving all aspects of operations around safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, cost, purchasing, material usage, logistics, and labor productivity
- Driving, promoting, and enforcing a safe work environment for employees and visitors of the facility through initiatives and programs
- Developing and maintaining a high-performing organization through selection, direction, coaching and training
- Mentoring and empowering the operations and production team to fully own and drive the performance, quality, accountability, and engagement of their organization
- Collaborating with sales, customer service, and leadership to support growth and customer satisfaction
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations
- Experience leading plant or multi-site manufacturing operations
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence practices
- Proven ability to manage production teams, supply chain, and quality systems
- Background in packaging, converting, printing, plastics, or paperboard manufacturing preferred
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
