Position Summary:

The Division Order Analyst will be responsible for reviewing title opinions, leases, and various land contracts to establish and maintain accurate ownership records. This role ensures that royalty and working interest revenues are properly distributed and serves as a central point of contact for ownership inquiries. Individuals with a background in land title, division order systems, and regulatory compliance will thrive in this role, especially if they have experience in the Appalachian Basin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze title opinions, leases, joint operating agreements, and related land documents to determine correct ownership interests for revenue distribution.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in ownership, including researching curative requirements.

  • Develop and maintain revenue and joint interest billing (JIB) decks to ensure accurate financial distributions.

  • Respond to inquiries from royalty and working interest owners via phone and email, providing clear and timely communication.

  • Investigate and manage legal suspense items, coordinating resolution with appropriate stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations governing division orders and revenue distribution.

  • Organize, update, and maintain digital land files for ongoing use and audit readiness.

  • Generate reports and data summaries as needed to support internal decision-making and audits.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • A minimum of 3 years of division order experience, specifically within the Appalachian Basin.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel for data management and analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and work independently with minimal oversight.

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, especially in interpreting title and contractual language.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.

  • Highly collaborative team player with a commitment to maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
