Job Summary

The Case Management Operations Automation Director plays a critical role in advancing Hospital Case Management's Technology Agenda and will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of automation strategies to enhance case management workflows and operational efficiencies. Key responsibilities include owning, leading, and driving the development of strategies and prioritization efforts to optimize automation opportunities as part of future state case management processes and workflows.

This role focuses on leveraging advanced technologies, including workflow automation tools, data science, and artificial intelligence (AI), to streamline processes, improve patient care, and reduce operational costs across the organization. As a liaison for Case Management Services, the Director will work closely with Parallon-Automation, Group and Division Leadership, the Information Technology Group (ITG), Performance Improvement - Throughput, and Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) Inpatient Throughput teams. It also includes coordinating efforts across multiple teams to support business leadership in continuously improving key focus areas.

The Director will shape the strategic direction and serve as the primary leader in automation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and systems such as Nate Tempo, Dynamic Discharge Dashboard, WellSky/CarePort, Virtual Care platforms, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. This leader will drive initiatives to support the Length of Stay (LOS) strategy by optimizing documentation, automating workflows, and identifying innovative opportunities to improve case management operations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on automation, innovation, and technology opportunities for hospital case management.
  • Collaborate with Parallon to streamline case management tasks and optimize workflows through automation.
  • Review all releases and enhancements to explore the value and how they will improve hospital case management efficiencies and patient-centered care, and report to appropriate stakeholders
  • Hold strong organizational skills and the ability to proactively prioritize needs to effectively manage resources.
  • Demonstrate the ability to foster team building and a collaborative environment.
  • Supports Hospital Case Management with future technology automation partnerships and processes
  • Deliver information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to champion hospital case management technology and innovation across the facilitating healthcare
  • Maintains and articulates current knowledge and understanding of all corporate policies and procedures related to job function
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to lead others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of RECENT Healthcare Experience with at least 5 years leading Technology Development and end-to-end technology implementations required
  • Informatics, Technology Implementation experience required
  • The job may require up to 25% travel.
