Senior Boiler Technician (San Jose Metro)

We’re seeking a Senior Boiler Technician in San Jose Metro to keep high-pressure steam systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Impact

  • Maintain safe, code-compliant boiler operations.

  • Ensure consistent steam delivery to support facility systems.

  • Optimize boiler performance through combustion tuning.

  • Meet all safety, emissions, and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure boilers and support equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, burners, and controls.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and control system issues.

  • Adjust combustion settings for safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate logs of operations and service work.

  • Manage water chemistry and blowdown procedures.

  • Follow LOTO, OSHA, and site safety policies.

  • Assist with inspections and vendor coordination.

Requirements
Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years working with high-pressure steam boilers (Cleaver-Brooks, Miura, Raypak, Babcock & Wilcox).

  • Strong understanding of boiler controls, combustion systems, and ASME codes.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.

  • OSHA 30-hour safety training.

  • Technical training in HVAC or mechanical systems.

  • Experience with BMS or boiler control platforms.

Compensation & Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and more. This full-time role is based in the San Jose Metro area and may include limited local travel.
