We are seeking a highly skilled, detail oriented Senior Accountant/Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities for a manufacturing company. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong manufacturing experience who's ready to own the company's financial processes, collaborate with leadership and drive accuracy, efficiency and results.  

 

What You'll Do:  

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, payroll, collections, limited purchasing, 401k administration, tax compliance, cash management, including facilitating payments via ACH and check, and general ledger  

  • Lead monthly and year-end close processes; deliver accurate and timely financial statements/reports  

  • Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports 

  • Drive cost accounting and inventory control; collaborate with Production and Management on scrap, inventory counts and data integrity  

  • Manage banking relationships and select vendor relationships, including assistance in negotiating and/or renewing contracts  

  • Coordinate and manage external audit processes, such as BWC and Pension Fund, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance  

  • Build, develop and mentor an accounting assistant  

  • Monitor key financial metrics and provide proactive recommendations to leadership  

  • Oversee tax planning, compliance and coordination with external accountants  

  • Limited H.R. duties  

  • Serve as the financial liaison to executive leadership, preparing and presenting reports and insights that drive decision-making  

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA a plus  

  • Quickbooks, Excel, Word, experience preferred  

  • Willingness to learn Company's proprietary software system that runs on AS400  

  • 6-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years leadership role  

  • Manufacturing background required  

  • Organizational and time management skills  

  • Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and independently  

  • Written and verbal communication skills  

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills  

  • Manage multiple duties and prioritize duties Hands on leader with initiative and ownership
