Sprinkler Technician – Irrigation Specialist
Location: Michigan (Oakland & Genesee County area)
Job Summary:Our Client is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Technician to install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will be an expert in troubleshooting and optimizing sprinkler systems to ensure efficient water usage, healthy landscapes, and long-term system performance. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, pumps, and piping.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues such as leaks, pressure problems, electrical malfunctions, and coverage inefficiencies.
- Conduct seasonal system startups, winterizations, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Adjust and program irrigation controllers for proper watering schedules and efficiency.
- Educate clients on system operation, water conservation practices, and maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with the landscape design and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of irrigation with landscaping projects.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices, smart irrigation technology, and water-saving techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and customer interactions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, valves, controllers, pumps, and backflow prevention.
- Ability to read and interpret irrigation blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing both residential and commercial systems.
- Experience with smart irrigation controllers and water-efficient technologies is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment as needed.
