Powder Coating Line Operator

Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused Powder Coating Line Operator to join our production team.

In this role, you will help prepare, coat, inspect, load, unload, and finish metal parts as they move through the powder coating process. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, works well in a team environment, and can stay productive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Previous powder coating or manufacturing experience is helpful, but we are also interested in reliable candidates who are mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and committed to producing quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload metal parts onto coating racks and production lines.

  • Prepare parts for coating through cleaning, masking, sanding, deburring, or other required preparation.

  • Apply powder coating according to established procedures and job specifications.

  • Monitor parts throughout the coating process to maintain quality and consistency.

  • Inspect completed parts for proper coverage, color, finish, and visible defects.

  • Identify and communicate quality issues before parts move to the next stage of production.

  • Remove masking materials and complete basic finishing work as required.

  • Follow work orders, production instructions, and customer specifications.

  • Safely operate hand tools, production equipment, racks, hooks, and material-handling equipment.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

  • Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, and other production employees.

  • Meet daily productivity expectations while maintaining quality standards.

  • Assist in other production areas when business needs require.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, production, powder coating, painting, finishing, or warehouse experience preferred.

  • Ability to learn powder coating and industrial finishing processes.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and receive coaching and feedback.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and product quality.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift and move parts and materials as required.

Preferred Experience

  • Powder coating or industrial painting.

  • Loading and unloading production lines.

  • Masking and part preparation.

  • Sanding, grinding, or deburring.

  • Quality inspection.

  • Forklift or material-handling equipment.

  • Manufacturing or metal finishing.

  • Experience working around industrial ovens, coating booths, or production lines.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role may require:

  • Standing for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movement.

  • Lifting and moving parts weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.

  • Working around industrial equipment, heat, noise, powders, coatings, and moving production lines.

  • Wearing required personal protective equipment.

Work Environment

This position works in an active manufacturing and coating facility. Employees may be exposed to heat, noise, industrial equipment, coatings, powders, and varying temperatures throughout the year.
