General Summary
\nResponsible for providing installation, training, and ongoing support for new and existing equipment. This role serves as the primary interface with customers post-shipment. When not traveling, the Field Service Technician will perform checkout and testing of new machines prior to shipment from the corporate headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
\nThe Field Service Technician is responsible for addressing opportunities, issues, training, and machinery checkouts.
\n\n
Deliver Comprehensive Service to Customers
\n• Provide technical support by answering questions about equipment design.
\n• Conduct new and ongoing training for customers on supplied equipment.
\n• Manage installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks on-site.
\n• Adhere to company and customer procedures and protocols.
\n\n
Support Internal Company Operations
\n• Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests as needed.
\n• Perform checkout and testing of finished machinery before shipment.
\n• Support assembly operations when required.
\n• Provide technical phone support.
\n• Connect new customer opportunities with the sales department.
\n• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
\n\n

\n• Generate timely and detailed service reports.
\n• Document service processes.
\n• Operate company and rental vehicles.
\n• Collaborate with technical teams and share information.
\n• Record customer interactions and service outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
\n• Understanding of machine requirements and customer interface needs
\n• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
\n• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n• Ability to remain calm under pressure
\n• Organized and efficient; able to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
\n• Computer literacy for documentation and reporting
\n• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
\n• Root cause identification skills including testing and measuring parts
\n• Strong judgment, creativity, and problem-solving abilities
\n\n
Education and Experience
\n• High school diploma or GED
\n• Minimum of 3-5 years of field service technician or customer service experience
\n\n
Licensing and Certifications
\n• Valid driver’s license
\n\n
Technology and Equipment Proficiencies
\n• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of packaging equipment
\n• Experience with filling equipment is highly desirable
\n• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
\n\n
Work Schedule and Travel Requirements
\n• Flexible schedule
\n• Travel up to 75%, primarily domestic with occasional international travel
\n\n
Physical Demands
\n• Standing: up to 100% of the day
\n• Walking: significant
\n• Bending: frequent
\n• Lifting: up to 50 lbs
\n• Sitting: up to 95% of the day
\n\n
Work Environment
\n• Field service at customer facilities
