Position Overview

A growing engineering services firm in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to support a variety of transportation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate on project teams for a variety of transportation projects
• Provide support and/or lead planning, design, and reporting efforts
• Oversee construction activities on transportation projects
• Manage construction operations and ensure project compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 5 to 15 years of experience in transportation projects including roadway rehabilitation, reconstruction, intersection and traffic signal design, traffic studies, and shared use path projects
• Familiarity with IDOT standards and procedures, especially Phase I / Phase II design and MFT requirements
• Experience with MicroStation and traffic modeling software such as Highway Capacity Software or Synchro is a plus
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or willingness to obtain
• P.T.O.E. license or ability to obtain within one year is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
