Junior to Mid-Level CMBS Associate Attorney

Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its CMBS (Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities) practice. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney to develop expertise in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions while working alongside a distinguished team of professionals.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 2–4 years of substantive experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions, or a demonstrated desire to practice in this area.
  • Bankruptcy litigation experience is helpful and desirable.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of discovery-related projects, such as drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document productions, and preparing protective orders.
  • Experience with motion practice, including research, drafting, and managing filing processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in complex CMBS litigation and related commercial real estate matters.
  • Conduct thorough research and draft discovery requests, responses, and motions.
  • Manage document productions and participate in depositions.
  • Draft protective orders, manage deposition work, and motion-related projects (i.e., research, draft simple motions, assist with the various processes required to file complex motions, etc.).   
  • Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional client service in fast-paced, high-stakes matters.

Actual pay will vary depending upon relevant experience, skill-set, current business needs, and market conditions. Compensation includes discretionary bonuses and incentive programs.

This position is available in multiple offices, offering flexibility in location and a hybrid work arrangement.
