Experienced Powder Coat Line Supervisor - 1st Shift (1706798)        $75-85k per year

Job Type

Full-time, Monday through Friday; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Additional hours and Saturday overtime may be required based on business needs and production demands. Department Manager will communicate scheduling changes.

 

Job Overview

  • Supervise and direct 15-20 employees on 1st shift.
  • Train new employees on departmental responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper startup of the powder coat line each day.
  • Manage daily workflow to meet production demands.
  • Monitor loading and unloading of parts on the powder coating line.
  • Verify quality of part masking and plugging of holes and threads.
  • Understand customer-specific quality requirements and paint classes.
  • Prepare parts according to production schedule prior to coating.
  • Oversee packaging of parts and customer orders before shipment or inventory transfer.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily production schedules.
  • Effectively multitask throughout daily responsibilities.
  • Communicate timely via email with Manager, HR, and coworkers.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to provide detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Willingness to contribute to a team in an advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Familiarity with powder coating equipment and effective troubleshooting skills.
  • 2-3 years of powder coating application experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience managing at least 8-12 employees.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Duties

  • Ability to reach, turn, twist, and walk.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of a work shift.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. at a time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience with ERP or scheduling systems.
  • Exposure to OEM quality standards.

Compensation and Reporting

Hourly rate of compensation will be determined based on experience. This position reports to the Department Manager. Employees are paid bi-weekly. Annual performance/merit reviews are conducted on the employee’s anniversary date.

 

Performance Bonus

Supervisors are eligible for a $300 performance bonus after 3 months of service if monthly company quality goals are met (98% or better on-time shipping, under 200 PPM, and compliant attendance).

  • Eligibility for health benefits begins the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • Three medical plans available through Blue Cross and Blue Shield: PPO, PPO Choice, and HMO.
  • Company covers 70% of employee medical benefits and 50-70% for dependents.
  • Dental, Vision, and Life AD&D available at cost through Principal.
  • Supplemental coverage available at cost through Colonial: Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, Short Term Disability, Whole and Term Life Insurance.

401K and Holidays

After 90 days of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the 401K Plan. Paid holidays include New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Holiday time off is awarded through a departmental lottery.

 

Time Off Policy

After 6 months of employment, employees receive 5 business days of sick/personal time (unscheduled) and 10 business days of vacation time (scheduled with 3 days prior notice). Time is prorated for the first calendar year based on hire date.
