Industrial Millwright

Shift: Full-Time, Multiple Shifts Available
Compensation: $27 – $36/hour DOE + Overtime & Benefits

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright to join our manufacturing team in Freeport, IL. The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial machinery and mechanical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports continuous production, and contributes to plant safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and align machinery and equipment according to layouts, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, conveyors, presses, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement timely, cost-effective repairs.

  • Maintain and repair bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, and other rotating equipment.

  • Weld, fabricate, and machine parts as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.

  • Collaborate with electricians and maintenance staff to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

  • Document all maintenance activities in accordance with company standards.

  • Follow OSHA and plant safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of Millwright or Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment.

  • Proficiency in welding, machining, and fabrication techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Heavy manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.

  • Requires standing, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on production needs.
