The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Machine Control Sales Manager to lead and build a specialized team of sales and software engineers on the East Coast. In this pivotal role, you will lead from the front, coaching your team to engage with high-profile OEM clients. Your mission will be to identify new opportunities, present cutting-edge control system options, and secure prototype and production orders.
Location: This is a field-based position for a candidate residing on the East Coast of the U.S., with regular travel required throughout the Eastern Seaboard.
Key Responsibilities
1.) Strategic Leadership
- Create and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed annual revenue goals for the East Coast market.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy, maintaining our competitive edge and optimizing the product mix.
- Monitor economic indicators and adjust long- and short-term sales objectives to align with company goals.
2.) Team Development and Management
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing, specialized team of technical sales and software engineers.
- Provide hands-on coaching to empower your team to meet and surpass their individual and collective sales targets.
- Recruit and onboard new talent, ensuring the team is equipped with the right competencies and technical knowledge.
- Identify and implement ongoing training opportunities to enhance the team's product expertise and sales capabilities.
3.) Customer and Business Development
- Drive engagement with top-tier OEMs, collaborating with our territory sales teams to identify and qualify strategic opportunities.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key customers and support sales representatives in nurturing client accounts.
- Manage the full sales cycle for high-impact opportunities, from initial evaluation to securing recurring production orders.
4.) Operational Excellence and Reporting
- Oversee sales operations and ensure diligent follow-up on all sales opportunities, maintaining a clean and accurate sales pipeline in NetSuite (CRM).
- Report on sales forecasts, potential deals, and market feedback to senior leadership.
- Manage key account and supplier relationships to ensure seamless operational support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a sales management role, preferably within industrial automation, technical systems, or manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and motivating high-performing sales or engineering teams.
- Strong business acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth and exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software, preferably NetSuite.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.
