Position: Program Manager - Defense Manufacturer
Location: Orlando, FL
Defense contractor manufacturer in Orlando is looking for a Program Manager (with security clearance)
The individual will be responsible for the overall cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned programs, serving as the primary liaison between the customer and internal cross-functional teams.
They will work closely with engineering, production, procurement, quality, contracts, finance, security, and warehouse operations to ensure programs are executed on time, on budget, and to exacting quality and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and thrives in a regulated defense environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Own and manage all aspects of assigned programs, including cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance
· Serve as the primary customer interface, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution
· Analyze and interpret contractual requirements for assemblies and subassemblies
· Ensure compliance with all contract provisions, including:
o Engineering and quality requirements
o Manufacturability and supply chain risks
o Acceptance criteria, delivery schedules, warranty, and customer service
· Develop and maintain master plans and schedules, ensuring on-time delivery with zero defects
· Identify program risks and lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement mitigation plans
· Oversee manufacturing operations in coordination with production supervisors to:
o Maintain alignment to schedules, quality, and cost targets
o Identify and resolve bottlenecks and production issues
o Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
· Participate in supplier quality surveys and performance evaluations
· Support proposal development and business development activities
· Partner with planning, procurement, production, engineering, quality, and finance to ensure ERP data integrity
· Prepare and present weekly and monthly program performance reports to leadership
· Develop, maintain, and improve program management documentation, SOPs, and planning processes
· Foster ethical, professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field
· 3–5 years of experience in Program Management (preferred but not strictly required)
· Experience in manufacturing operations or production supervision strongly preferred
· Defense industry experience is a plus
· Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
· PMP, FARs, and DFARs knowledge or certification a plus
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
