Senior Preconstruction Estimating Director - Nashville, TN

We are searching for an experienced Senior Estimator in Nashville to lead our Civil Construction Precon Department.

As our Director of Preconstruction - you will manage, oversee and approve our competitive cost estimates for all civil construction projects we perform. Furthermore, Your expertise will directly impact the company’s ability to win work and execute projects -- so We are looking for the Right Person to lead our team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a lead estimator in the civil construction industry.
• Proven track record of estimating a range of heavy civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities etc).
• Proficient in necessary software is preferred (HeavyBid,, AutoCAD, AGTEK, Excel).
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Eye for Detail is absolutely essential.
