POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop strategies and programs to maintain compliance with applicable Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements and achieve World Class safety within their division.
What will you do:
- Hold team members accountable to the division wide safety plan and communicate goals, improvements, and successes.
- Identify and assess all certification and training requirements.
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of division safety training programs.
- Measure and manage required KPIs for Environmental, Health, and Safety, report to the leadership team and corporation as required.
- Ensure compliance with air and water permitting regulations from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Develop strategy to ensure safety and environmental stewardship is included in operating rhythms.
- Provide coaching and development for all team members to improve safety behavior and performance.
- Develop opportunities and facilitate tracking of employee engagement in EH&S/EH&S improvement initiatives.
- Oversee contractor safety and training, hold contractors accountable to company standards.
- Assess and report on contractor safety performance.
- Oversee division nurse responsibilities, training, and certifications.
- Monitor quality and consistency of incident investigation and reporting process, ensuring proper identification and implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage and monitor workers compensation injuries and litigation.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a safety or environmental sciences discipline with 3-5 years manufacturing experience OR 10 years of manufacturing management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Managerial/Supervisory experience (Preferably in Safety or Environmental management)
- Able to mentor, coach, and support members to positively impact divisional safety culture.
- Knowledge of best practices, principles, and methods to achieve a sustained, safe manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of local, state, federal, and other regulatory requirements for environmental and health standards.
- Ability to facilitate a successful safety program.
- Able to lead by example, practice what you preach.
